Spring can’t come fast enough
The in-between is that time after the fall garden is cleaned up and before the spring garden can begin. Here, Spring can’t come fast enough and that is why this year, we are not waiting until the spring to start.

Even though there is snow on the ground, we’re planning now so that when spring does finally arrive, we are ready to go.
Organizing New Gardening Supplies

We invested in a number of products from Vego garden. I’m amazed at the quality of their items and hope that they last for years to come.
We have three of these grow lights on a shelving unit that use for seedlings. In addition to the Vego seed trays, we have regular plastic planters from past garden vegetables, and lefter Chinese food containers. These containers are great because they have clear plastic lids which help keep the moisture and heat in.
For outside, we purchased 3 of the Jumbo Vego Garden’s classic 10-1 modular raised garden beds. With snow on the ground we are going to have to wait to unbox these but we can’t wait!
Putting together a seed inventory

What better way to spend a snowy day than with a cup of coffee and logging your seeds. We created a spreadsheet to help document all of the seeds we had and to take notes on when they should be planted (either direct sow or indoors). We included notes on germination timeframes and maturity. One everything was documented we created a calendar to list out what needs to be managed in which order. This will help us understand what we need to start seeding first.
Gardening in the in-between

We started playing with growing plants that we would typically grow outside in the late spring indoors, under grow lights. For now we have started peas, peppers, tomatoes, radishes and strawberries. Follow along for updates on our progress!
